Announcements 12th – 13th November 2011, Solemnity of Christ the King
1. Parish Feast Day Dinner Tickets
a. The Parish Feast Day Dinner is on Saturday, 3rd December. 10 tickets (1 table) have been reserved for the Society. They are priced at $50 each. Approach Shawn Wong if you or your family members are interested. Tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis. 6 tickets have been sold so far.
2. Society Outing (Important)
a. A trip to the beach and movie screening has been organised for the servers on Mon, 12 Dec 11. Please take a form from your group leader or download it from the blog. Kindly submit your form by next weekend, regardless of whether you will be going for the outing. Do note that late submissions will result in additional and unnecessary work for the planning committee. Hence, your cooperation will be very much appreciated. Group leaders to ensure that servers are issued a form before they leave the sacristy.
3. Christmas Gift Exchange
a. If you have not received a call regarding this year’s Christmas Gift Exchange, please contact Shawn Wong, Raphael Ng, Jeremy Wong, Andre Dumont or Justin Yeo. The deadline for submission is Sunday, 4 Dec 11. Please refer to notice for more details.
4. Hierarchy
a. The servers’ hierarchy has been published with all the latest changes. Please take note of the Exco members, Subcommitee Heads and the various Appointment Holders.
5. Administration (Rosters and Special Events)
a. Updated Feast Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Mass Rosters are published. Kindly refer to these rosters and adhere strictly to all instructions provided.
b. Feast Day Triduum Masses are from 30th November, Wednesday to 2nd December 11, Friday at 8pm. There are no 6.30am or 6.30pm masses on these days. Triduum Masses are counted as weekday masses. There is no roster required.
c. Group 3 is serving Novena this Saturday, 26th November.
d. Special Events Roster for November has been published. Please check if you are scheduled.
e. As the school holidays have started, servers are to serve 2 weekday masses a week. One morning mass is encouraged.
f. The Letter of Excuse is to be submitted and approved if a server is unable to fulfil any mass or novena requirement. Failure to do so will result in a server being marked as absent without official leave and he is liable for disciplinary action.
6. Discipline
a. As a form of basic respect and courtesy, servers are reminded to greet priests and religious when they see them.
7. Training
a. Whenever servers are holding an article (e.g. weekend missal) and need to bow to the priest after he sits down on the presider’s chair, they should observe the following procedure
i. Face the priest
ii. With the hand nearest their seat, put down the article on the seat. The other hand is placed on the chest.
iii. Hands to return together.
iv. Wait for all to be ready.
v. Bow, taking the cue from the PAs.
vi. With the hand nearest their seat, retrieve the article from the seat. The other hand is placed on the chest.
vii. Face the congregation.
