1. Canteen (IMPORTANT)
a. Canteen has been postponed to Sunday, 29th Jan. Servers who have not stated their contributions are to check immediately what they are contributing, write it on a piece of paper with their name on it and drop it into the transparent box.
b. Canteen duties
i. Please check the roster immediately after mass.
ii. If you are unable to make it for your timeslot, please find your own replacement and inform any Exco member by Friday, 27th January.
iii. Servers who fail to turn up for one’s timeslot punctually without a valid reason will be liable for disciplinary action.
c. Food contributions should arrive by 7am in the canteen.

b. Monday, 23rd January and Tuesday, 24th January are public holidays.
i. For Monday, masses are at 830am and 1030am only. All are to refer to the published rosters for further instructions. Cape and sash needed.
ii. For Tuesday, mass is at 830am only. There is no roster for this mass. Cape and sash needed.
c. There is a meeting on Sunday, 22nd Jan from 2pm to 330pm for all appointment holders in the Admin Subcommittee.
d. Special Events Roster for January has been published.
e. Novena Roster has been published.
f. Group 2 servers will be serving the Novena service next Saturday, 28th Jan.
g. There was an error in the announcements last week. Mel Wong has not left the society. Apologies for any confusion caused.

4. Miscellaneous
a. All servers are reminded to pay attention to announcements made during debrief and are to check the noticeboards, blog or Facebook page for announcements every week. Failure to do so is unacceptable. Last week, there were a number of servers who brought food contributions thinking that canteen was on 15th January.

b. The current Anima Christi Prayer will be replaced with the more accurate translation found in the Roman Missal. It will still be recited in 2 groups with a "," to indicate the separation. This change will take effect from next weekend onwards. Group leaders to go through and distribute the new prayer cards to all servers and communion ministers.

1. Canteen and Chinese New Year Cookie Sales
a. Canteen has been postponed to Sunday, 29th Jan 2012. Servers who have not stated their contributions are to check immediately what they are contributing, write it on a piece of paper with their name on it and drop it into the transparent box.
b. There will not be any cookie sales next week as the supplier is unable to provide them. Please inform your parents. This weekend will be the last weekend to make your purchases and collect your orders.

2. Servers T-shirt Sales
a. The new batch of servers t-shirts has arrived. All are encouraged to purchase one. Servers are to approach Shawn Wong or Raphael Ng with $12 and their shirt size if interested to make a purchase. Sample shirts with different sizes in the cupboard can be tried on. Please hang them up neatly after use.

3. Serangoon District Youth Conference 2012
a. This is a 2 day, no n residential retreat for youth s in the Serangoon District. It will be held from 9am, 14 Jan to 7pm, 15 Jan 2012. All servers aged 13 years and above, especially facilitators, are strongly encouraged to attend. Those interested are to submit their name and t-shirt size to Nigel Rankine by Sunday, 25th December.

4. Year End Meeting and Potluck
a. All appointment holders are to note that there is a year-end meeting and potluck on Thursday, 29th December from 7pm to 10pm in the Good Shepherd Room. Please indicate your attendance on the Facebook event wall.

1. Altar Servers Outing
a. The Altar Servers Outing will be held this Monday, 12th December.
b. Please be at the front porch of the church by 0900H. Do be punctual. Servers who have indicated their attendance but fail to turn up without a valid reason will be charged a penalty fee of $20.
c. Dress casually for games and bring along the following items
i. Water bottle and snacks
ii. Any medication
iii. Bathing equipment (Optional)
iv. Umbrella/Poncho
v. EZ Link Card
vi. About $20 (Lunch and other expenses)

a. Triduum Masses this week are from Wednesday, 30th November to Friday, 2nd December at 8pm. There are no 6.30am or 6.30pm masses on these days. Triduum Masses are counted as weekday masses. There is no roster required.
b. Feast Day Mass is on Saturday, 3rd December at 5.30pm. ALL servers are to report to the sacristy at 3pm for session and training. Cape and Sash is required. This is a Full Society Mass. All groups except group 1 and the mass team should serve their normal weekend masses on top of Feast Day Mass.

1. Parish Feast Day Dinner Tickets
a. The Parish Feast Day Dinner is on Saturday, 3rd December. 10 tickets (1 table) have been reserved for the Society. They are priced at $50 each. Approach Shawn Wong if you or your family members are interested. Tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis. 6 tickets have been sold so far.

2. Society Outing (Important)
a. A trip to the beach and movie screening has been organised for the servers on Mon, 12 Dec 11. Please take a form from your group leader or download it from the blog. Kindly submit your form by next weekend, regardless of whether you will be going for the outing. Do note that late submissions will result in additional and unnecessary work for the planning committee. Hence, your cooperation will be very much appreciated. Group leaders to ensure that servers are issued a form before they leave the sacristy.

• Servers are to treat all sacristy articles, vessels and vestments with respect. Snacking on communion hosts or drinking of altar wine is not allowed (unless there is leftover altar wine in the cruets after mass - in this case, a server aged 18 and above shall consume it discreetly.) 1. Adminstration
a. This coming Wednesday, 26 Oct 11, is a public holiday (Deepavali). Morning mass is at 8.30am. There is no evening mass.

1. Canteen Issues

a. Canteen Roster is out. Please check for your respective reporting time, venue and Server in-charge. Changes and exemptions are strictly to be approved by Exco members only.

b. Your reporting time should not clash with your weekend Mass and Catechism class time. If it does, please approach any ex co member for amendments to be made.

c. There is no exemption from Catechism classes.

ii. New servers are to be in their short sleeved white shirt, black pants, belt and black shoes.

Rules when selling Assisi tickets at churches

During the ticket sales:

a. Do not run around
b. Do not make unnecessary noise
c. Observe safety at all times (road safety)
d. Do not hound the parishioners to buy tickets 5-10 mins before Mass begins.
e. Respect the decisions of the Parishioners if they are unwilling to purchase tickets from you.
f. Be polite and grateful to the parishioners at all times even if they don’t buy from you.
g. Do not lose the money or tickets. Otherwise you will have to pay for the losses.
h. If you intend to purchase snacks or drinks from a vending machine, inform your facilitators before disappearing.
i. The parent volunteers will drive you to your doorstep after the ticket sales. No compromises will be entertained.
j. Only hold and sell tickets that were issued to you directly. You should not pass tickets to each other.

Changes to serving of Mass

Here are the following immediate changes in procedure for Eucharistic Prayer:
• After "Pray bretheren... Amen", shortest to tallest servers will descend the steps and bow as usual. However, they will not split at anytime during the Eucharistic Prayer or Communion Rite.
• Additionally, as they descend the steps, the tallest server on "Readers" side will divert away and take the bells before joining the rest, before they bow toward the Altar.
• 1st bells: the tallest server on "Readers" side will pass the bells down to the server doing '1st bells'.
• 2nd bells: the server doing '1st bells' will pass the bells down to the server doing '2nd bells'.
• After 2nd bells, the servers will stand up, and ascend the steps as usual. Then, the server doing 2nd bells will pass the bells down to the tallest server on "Readers" side. The tallest server on “Readers” side will then receive Communion on the tongue before returning the bells to their original position.
• The only exception to using the new procedure is during Wedding Masses/Services, because of the presence of the Nuptial Blessing. In such cases, the servers will split after bowing, and return only after returning the 2nd Bells are rung and returned to their original position.
Reminders:
Servers do not need to bow to the priest after standing up from their kneeling position after communion.
Servers who been paired to do an assign task during mass are reminded to turn inwards. (E.g. Offertory torches, offertory thurifer/boat bearer.)
Servers have to bow towards the altar table when they need to leave their seat on the sanctuary.

Those who have valid reasons and are unable to attend are to check out the slides on the blog entitled; “Pre Retreat Briefing”.

3. Remember to bring a rosary, bible, notebook and a water bottle. Your Altar Servers’ shirt is to be brought as well, and used ONLY on day 3.

4. Please report to church on Tuesday, 22nd June at 9am, and dismissal will be on Thursday, 24th June at 7pm.

5. Retreat will end off with a family Mass in church at the usual 6.30pm Mass. Your parents are strongly encouraged to attend.
