Announcements 7th Aug – 8th Sep 2013, Twenty ThirdSunday in Ordinary Time

 


 

1.
Administration (Rosters and Special Events)
b.
Special events roster for SEPTEMBER has been published.  All are responsible to check.  
c.
Group 1 servers will be serving the Novena servicenext Sat, 14th Sep.

 

2.
Sharing
a.
Weekly Friday night sharing for servers secondary 1and above  is on this Fri, 13th Sep at 830pm.

 

3.
Canteen
a.
Servers who have not submitted their canteen contributions (cash) are to enclose it in an envelope with their name and amount written and drop them into the transparent box.

 

4.
Contact List
a.
The Society needs to verify the particulars in the contact list.  
b.
A copy of the latest version of the contact list is yet to be published but has been put up beside the sink.  Servers are to ensure that they check their particulars before leaving the sacristy after mass.
c.
If there is no error, servers to indicate “NIL”.  However, if there are changes to be made, please write them neatly in pen, in the blank sheet on the right.  
d.
Group Leaders to assist in this exercise as there are still servers who have not corrected their details or indicated “NIL”.

 

5.
Changes to serving of mass
a.
The following pointers are to be taught to servers by Group Leaders before mass.  Exco present to supervise.
b.
These pointers apply to all masses celebrated by Fr. Gerard Weerakoon and Fr. Brian D’ Souza.
i.
PA to lift up the celebrant’s chasuble before he sits.
ii.
Servers are to bow slowly and reverently.
c.
At present, these pointers will apply only to masses celebrated by Fr. Gerard Weerakoon.
i.
When setting up, the Roman Missal is to be placed on the left half of the corporal and slanted 45 degrees to the left.
ii.
On weekday masses only
1.
The Roman Missal and Microphone are to be left on the Altar after communion.  The Roman Missal however, is to be shifted just off the left side of the corporal.
2.
During cleansing, Fr.’s fingers will be placed on the top of the chalice so that any fragments of consecrated host can bewashed in the chalice. Pour slowly onto his fingers into the chalice.

 

iii.
On weekend masses only
1.
If there is communion to be brought to the sick, the PA on Father’s Side, upon hearing that Fr. will be giving the blessing to the communion minister, will stand,leave his seat and genuflect before thepyx.  The PA will wait for Fr. without getting in between Fr. and the communion minister during the blessing.  After the blessing, the PA will extend the tray to Fr. and return the tray to the credence table.

 

6.
 Group Leader duties
a.
Group Leaders to issue the capes and sashes from vestments cupboard to the newly invested servers if they have not.  They are to ensure that the vestments are not damaged and are of the appropriate size.  They are to notify Matthew Kwan after this has been done.
b.
The fitting and issuing of capes and sashes for all new servers to be completed by Sun, 8th Sep.

 

7.
  Circular to parents
a.
All servers are to return the acknowledgement slip to on the last page of the circular to their parents via the transparent box by this Sun, 8th Sep.
