Announcements 19th – 20th Oct 2013, Twenty NinthSunday in Ordinary Time

 

 

1.

Administration (Rosters and Special Events)

b.

Special events roster for OCTOBER has beenupdated.  All to check.

c.

Group 2 servers will be serving the Novena servicenext Sat, 26th Oct.

d.

The Group Leaders department has embarked on a project to address the issue of low attendance for Novena services.  The first phase of this project will last 5 weeks as there are 5 groups.  For each week, those who are unable to serve are required to submit a detailed letter of excuse.  For those requiring a permanent excuse, a detailed letter must also be submitted (Ignore this if you have already done so).  Long term excuses for novena service will only be valid until the end of each year.  Servers who do not submit their letter of excuse will have their names recorded for further action.

P6 servers who have completed their PSLE are required to serve 2 weekday masses each week.

f.

New contact list is published.  All to take home a copy.

 

2.

Primary School Retreat

a.

The dates of the Retreat for Primary School Servers are tentatively 16th to 18th Dec (Mon to Wed).  Dates will be confirmed within a week.

 

3.

Rosary Session led by Altar Servers’

a.

Various ministries will lead parishioners in reciting the rosary in October.  Altar Servers have been assigned to do so on Sun, 27th Oct at the Grotto at 630pm.

b.

All servers are welcome to attend.  For all appointment holders in the various departments, attendance is compulsory.  

c.

Benedict Koh and Andre Dumont to coordinate.

 

4.

Sharing

a.

Sharing for servers secondary 1 and above is on this Fri, 25th Oct.

 

5.

All Saints Day

a.

Rosters for 31st Oct (Thu, 8pm) and 1st Nov (Fri, 630am, 630pm and 8pm) have been published.  All to check.

b.

All Saints Day is a Holy Day of Obligation and is not counted as a weekday mass.

c.

Servers to bring cape and sash and report half an hour before mass.

d.

Servers to swap with one another if they have a valid reason to do so.  Duty Leaders and Sacristans can only swap with a Group Leader and Sacristan respectively.

 

 

 

6.

All Souls Day

a.

Rosters for 2nd Nov (Sat, 630am and 9am) have been published.  The evening mass is a normal Saturday sunset mass.

b.

Only servers on the roster need serve.  It is not a Holy Day of Obligation and is counted as a weekday mass.

c.

Servers to report half an hour before mass.

d.

Servers to swap with one another if they have a valid reason to do so.  Duty Leader and Sacristancan only swap with a Group Leader and Sacristan respectively.

 

7.

Parish Renewal Experience (PRE)

a.

The PRE for ministry leaders of the Parish will be held from Thu, 24th to Sun, 27th Oct.

b.

Raphael Ng, Jeremy Wong and Luke Yeo will be away at this event.

c.

Details are as follows for servers who would like to join other parishioners in intercessions for this event.

24th Oct (Thu): 830pm -10pm

ii.

25th Oct (Fri): 830pm -10pm

iii.

26th Oct (Sat): 2pm-330pm, 4-530pm, 8-9pm

d.

Venue is the Basement Chapel.
