Announcements 27th – 28th Apr 2012, Fifth Sunday of Easter

1.     Administration (Rosters and Special Events)

a.     Special events roster for May has been published.

b.     Group 2 servers will be serving the Novena service next Sat, 4^th May.

c.     Ascension Day Mass Rosters are published.  All servers to check and perform the necessary swaps if required 3 days before their allocated mass time.  For duty sacristans and duty leaders, they are only allowed to swap with another duty sacristan and duty leader respectively.  All changes must be approved and signed by an Exco Member.

d.     All servers who have served weddings and funeral masses or services are required to submit the red packet declaration form whether or not they have received red packets.  Drop the form along with the red packets (if any) into the transparent box.  In the past month, many servers have forgotten to do so and have caused unnecessary inconvenience to the Head of Administration II, Justin Yeo and the Society Accountant, Rose Loh.

2.     Sharing

a.     Friday night sharing for servers secondary 1 and above resumes this Fri, 3^rd May at 830pm.  All are invited for mass and dinner.

3.     Passion Play

a.     The following cast are to return their costumes to the basket marked “Passion Play costumes” inside the flower room LATEST by this Sun, 27^th Apr, 12pm.  Costumes must be folded neatly.

4.     Sacristans

a.     All sacristans are reminded to wash their hands clean before handling communion hosts.

5.     Retreat (HIGH IMPORTANCE)

a.     Retreat will be held from Mon, 3^rd Jun to Wed, 5^th June for servers secondary 1 and above at the IHM Retreat House.

b.     All servers secondary 1 and above are to obtain a copy of the consent form and submit it by latest Sun, 5^th May whether one is able to attend or not.

c.     All servers to note that an amendment should have been made to the form.  The reporting venue is IHM Retreat House instead of SFX Church.

6.     Parish Assembly (HIGH IMPORTANCE)

a.     The Parish Pastoral Council requires that all members from the various church ministries participate in the Parish Assembly this Wed, 1^st May (Labour Day).  It will start with mass at 830am and last till 12pm.  Lunch will follow.

b.     For the Society, servers secondary 1 and above are to attend.  Attendance is compulsory-those unable to attend should have already submitted a letter of excuse two weeks ago.

a.     Friday night sharing resumes this week at 830pm.  All servers secondary 1 and above are invited for sharing, mass and dinner.

3.     Passion Play

a.     The following cast are to return their costumes to the basket marked “Passion Play costumes” inside the flower room LATEST by this Sun, 14^th Apr, 12pm.  Costumes must be folded neatly.

4.     Paschal Candle

a.     The paschal candle is not to be removed from its stand until further notice due to the risk of breaking its fragile base.  This applies to servers assigned to light or snuff the flame.  If a server experiences physical constraints attempting to reach the top of the candle, he may use the stool inside the ambo or call for assistance.

Indemnity Form

Dear Servers, there is a dark blue folder placed with the attendance sheets for Servers playing in the Archbishop's Cup 2013. Servers are required to submit a signed Indemnity Form, original copy and photocopy of your Bap cert OR confi cert, and a photocopy of you Ezlink card. Please submit these items LATEST by 21st April, Sunday 12.30pm. Failing which, you will not be able to represent the church in the competition.

a.     Special events roster for Apr has been published.

b.     Servers are to check if they are assigned for holy water distribution duty on the roster.  Those who are on duty are to be in cassock and stationed next to the holy water vat beside the Sanctuary on time.  Cape and sash is to be worn.

c.     Group 3 servers will be serving the Novena service next Sat, 6^th Apr.

2.     Sharing

a.     Sharing for servers secondary 1and above resumes next Fri, 5^th Apr.  All are invited for evening mass and dinner, followed by opening session in the Good Shepherd room at 830pm. 

3.     Passion Play

a.     Cast who have washed their costumes are to return them to the basket marked “Passion Play costumes” inside the flower room by next Sun, 7^th Apr, 12pm.  Costumes must be folded neatly

Announcements 23rd – 24th Mar 2012, Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord

1.     Administration (Rosters and Special Events)

a.     Special events roster for Mar has been published.

b.     No morning mass on Thursday as only the Chrism Mass and Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper is permitted.

c.     No morning mass and novena service next Sat, 30^th Mar.

d.     Masses and services within the Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil) are not counted as weekday masses. Servers to serve one weekday mass by Wednesday evening.

e.     Next Sunday, 24^th Mar is Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord.  Please bring cape and sash.

2.     Sharing

a.     No sharing for servers secondary 1and above this Fri, 29^th Mar due to Good Friday. 

3.     Holy Week (EXTREMELY HIGH IMPORTANCE)

a.     Holy week rosters are out.  Please check ALL rosters to see when you are assigned for masses, services, training, holy hour, or other special duties.  Note down all dates and times.  Forgetting to check and take note will not be accepted for an excuse.

b.     If you wish to change your time slots, please swap on your own and inform an Exco Member at least 3 days in advance of the actual date.  However, servers who are duty leaders or duty sacristans can only swap with a duty leader and a duty sacristan respectively.

c.     Punctuality is to be observed.

d.     Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper (Thu, 28^th Mar 630pm)

                                               i.     FULL SOCIETY MASS

                                             ii.     For duty sacristan

1.     Start setup from 2pm onwards

                                            iii.     For  trainers and mass team

1.     Report to sacristy by 430pm

2.     Bring cape and sash

3.     No dinner provided.  Consume a heavy lunch.

                                            iv.     For all other servers

1.     Report  to Basement Chapel by 5pm

2.     Bring cape, sash and rosary

                                              v.     Holy hour/Silent Adoration (8pm to 12am)

2.     Report to sacristy 15 minutes before assigned time slot.

e.     Good Friday of the Passion of the Lord, Services (Fri, 29^th Mar, 9am, 1130am and 3pm)

                                               i.     Training this Sunday, 24^th Mar.  Inform Joshua Wong, Head Trainer if you are unable to turn up or wish to train at another time slot.  Provide a valid reason for your request.

                                               i.     Counted as weekend mass for mass team only.  Group leaders and sacristans are still to ensure that their duties for their respective mass groups are carried out by them or by appointed replacements.
