Announcements 19th – 20th Jan 2012, 2nd Sunday of Ordinary Time



1.     Administration (Rosters and Special Events)
a.     Special events roster for Jan has been published.
b.     Group 4 servers will be serving the Novena service on next Sat, 25th Jan.
c.     Servers are reminded to take their attendance in the coloured group files after serving weekday masses and all other masses that are counted as weekday masses.
d.     Servers are reminded to fill in the red packet declaration form after serving wedding or funeral masses or services.

2.     Request for prayers
a.     One of our retired servers, Jonathan Tan, aged 19 years old, cousin of Geoffrey Tan, passed away on the morning of Sat, 19th Jan.
b.     Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
c.     The Exco will be leading in prayers at the wake and you are strongly encouraged to attend at least one of the four nights.
                                               i.     Dates: Sat, 19th Jan to Tue, 22nd Jan
                                             ii.     Venue: St. Joseph’s Dying Aid Funeral Parlour (Report directly)
                                            iii.     Attire: Servers T-shirt, Long pants, Shoes
                                            iv.     Items: Rosary
                                              v.     Time: 8pm (Report 5 minutes earlier.  Exco member to update if there are any changes.) 

3.     Year of Faith
a.     In line with the Year of Faith activities for the parish, all servers secondary 1 and above are to attend the talk on the Creed this Friday, 25th Jan, 8pm in the Parish Hall.  It is entitled “The Holy Trinity.  There will be no sharing this week.  

4.     Canteen and Chinese New Year Cookie Sales (High Importance)
a.     BOTH Canteen and Chinese New Year Goodie Sales rosters have been UPDATED.  Please check when you are down for duty and be punctual.  If you are unable to report for duty, please exchange your slot with another server and notify an Exco member.  Report in servers’ t-shirt.  Shoes to be worn.
                                               i.     Food contributions are to be in the canteen by 7am on Sun, 20th Jan
                                             ii.     Love offerings are to be placed in an envelope stating the amount and name of server and dropped into the transparent box by Sun, 20th Jan.
b.     Chinese New Year goodies order forms are to be submitted along with the exact amount of cash in an envelope to any of the following Council members by Sun, 27th Jan.  Please remember to collect your receipt from them.

5.     Cassock exchange
a.     The cassock exchange list is out.  All servers are given till 31st Jan to exchange their cassocks and sign on the cassock cupboard list.
b.     All servers on the list are to make arrangements to exchange their cassocks with the other server on the list on their own.  Cassocks should be washed and ironed before exchange.
c.     Please contact Luke Yeo or Emanuel Lee if there are any problems.  Servers on the list which are still using a poorly fitted cassock because they have neglected to change it by Thu, 31st Jan will not be allowed to serve masses till they have made the exchange.
d.     Servers whose names are marked with an asterisk* on the list will not receive their new cassock yet till the second exchange in 2013.

6.     Ordination Mass of the Coadjutor Archbishop Elect
a.     There is need for two altar servers from each parish/church, above the age of 15 years to serve at the ordination Mass of the Coadjutor Archbishop Elect Monseigneur William Goh at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre on Fri, 22 Feb in the evening.
b.     Servers who wish to serve are to submit their names to Raphael Ng by this Sunday, 20th Jan, 9pm, by SMS.  Servers will be assessed on their attendance for the past half year.  Conduct and attitude will also be assessed by the Council. Selection will be based on a ballot. Shortlisted names will be placed in a box and 2 names will be drawn at random.
